The announcement was made during Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference at its Cupertino, California, headquarters on Monday.

Despite high expectations, the initial reaction from investors was lukewarm, with Apple shares declining by almost 2% as the market neared closing on Monday.

During the event, CEO Tim Cook and Craig Federighi, the senior vice president of software engineering, highlighted that Apple Intelligence is designed to be accessible to everyone. They stressed that this powerful yet complex technology is meant to be user-friendly and secure, aligning with the expectations of the average Apple user.

Gene Munster, a veteran Apple analyst, commented on X that the new features could drive a significant number of users to upgrade their devices in order to take full advantage of Apple Intelligence.

Genmojis:

Users can now create personalized emojis, known as Genmojis, by providing simple text descriptions. These can range from whimsical images like a dinosaur on a snowboard to realistic representations of people.

Enhanced Writing Tools: Integrated into apps such as Mail, these tools will assist users in proofreading and rewriting their messages, ensuring better communication with minimal effort.

Email and Notification Management: Apple Intelligence will prioritize and summarize emails, highlighting the most urgent ones and displaying them at the top. Notifications will be sorted and summarized, with a “Reduce Interruptions” feature that only shows important alerts.

Image Creation and Editing: The new Image Playground app allows users to generate custom images. The Notes app’s “Image Wand” feature can refine rough sketches into polished visuals, and the Photo app’s “Clean Up” tool will remove unwanted objects from photos.
